My visual journey began at 12 years of age, when I received a Brownie Hawkeye film camera for Christmas. For more than half my life photography has challenged my imagination and focused my creativity, but most of all it has taken me to wonderful places on this planet.
I was fortunate enough to have one of my fine art prints exhibited in a group show which traveled to ten cities in China.
Teaching photography and hosting outdoor workshops has also sharpened my visual communication skills. In all my years of creating images that people will enjoy, I have discovered that photography is a spiritual medium. It is a medium that unifies your eye, your hand, and your heart.
I believe what Ansel Adams once said: “God creates the scene and I just press the shutter”. Knowing when to press the shutter at the decisive moment is the key to creating lasting images with strong visual impact. I have been blessed with a body of work that comes from the passion I feel in my heart and soul. This is a passion not only for the subject, but also a passion for the medium of photography. My hope is that viewers come to experience the peace that I felt when creating these images.
